3D’s approach to personal training is as effective as it is exciting. Our multi-dimensional philosophy of training the body as one integrated unit rather than a bag of isolated parts will open your eyes to a new fitness strategy. No matter what your goals may be, a functional system of training is the safest and most efficient way to reach those goals.

Our team of professional trainers will discuss personal goals, past medical history, current physical status, and develop an attainable plan to make you stronger and healthier. Every individual is unique and each program will need to be adjusted to fit that person. The key to achieving a healthier lifestyle requires a combination of solid information, proper instruction, a motivating environment, and the drive to get there. We are willing to help those that first help themselves.

There are exercises and exercise routines that have the potential of being dangerous. Not every training program is designed specifically for your needs. It is important that the progression of an exercise program is consistent, safe, and goal oriented. Our combined personal experience here at 3D has given us a good eye for non-functional and damaging movement patterns that may do you more harm than good. We specialize in breaking down the fears and anxiety associated with exercise so you can actually enjoy the process. For most people, the fear of doing the wrong thing paralyzes them and keeps them from doing the right thing.

An integrated exercise program is much easier on the body because you are using all your muscles, joints, and body parts to produce various movement patterns. Once these patterns have been mastered then various forms of resistance can be added to reach the next level. We have borrowed techniques and movement patterns from various disciplines such as yoga, Olympic lifting, pilates, plyometrics, martial arts, body building, endurance sports, and others to form our own style that we think you will really love.

WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE:

A training session starts with an appointment made by our office manager, and will last about an hour. The initial visit is our “Get to know each other” visit. You will come in and we will discuss goals, past medical history, exercise history, diet, and do a thorough musculoskeletal assessment to determine your current level of fitness. Once the assessment is complete and we have a good feel for the direction we need to go we’ll warm up with various exercises to get the core muscles primed and ready for a great workout. This may be a series of short bouts on the versaclimber, ultimate slideboard, minitramp run, weighted hulahoop, or 3D skipping.

Following the general warmup, we’ll get a little more specific and work the balancing mechanisms and cornerstone (foundational work) exercises. These movements will dynamically stretch and prepare you for the next phase of the routine, which we call the “Meat” of the program. This is where the 3DAthlete is formed, developed, and put to the test with various functional strength exercises using dumbbells, kettlebells, clubbells, medicine balls, weight vests, stability balls, power balls, versapulleys, weighted cables, and other FUNctional tools.

This phase can be directed toward endurance, power, or strength depending on the individual’s personal goals. Toward the end of the session we concentrate on the abs, back, and core muscles that stabilize the pelvis and spine. Exercises like stability ball knee tucks, prone planks and rockers, ab hangs, and slideboard pikes will challenge anyone’s core and ensure a feeling of accomplishment as you coast into the cool down phase.

Cool down will be a mix of functional full body stretches in our True Stretch Station where four points of contact guarantee a full kinetic chain release. Then you are ready to face the real world where your 3D training has prepared you to be strong, productive, and pain free.
